Veteran Hong Kong Actor Hon Kwok-choi Passes Away

I am sad to announce that 韓國材 Hon Kwok-choi has passed away from lung cancer at the age of 69. He had a long career in the Hong Kong movie industry, working both behind and in front of the camera on over a 130 films. Early roles included work as an extra at the Shaw Brothers studio and in Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury. Amongst his huge list of film credits, Bruceploitation fans may remember him from the Bruce Li movies “Gold Connection” and “Fist of Fury 3” and alongside Bruce Le in “Bruce King of Kung Fu” and “Bruce Le’s Greatest Revenge”. He also starred in several films with Bruce Leung Siu-Lung, often showing his great comedic skills. Thoughts go out to his friends and family. May he rest in peace.

Phillip Ko Fei Passes away

It’s with great sadness that I report that the legendary PHILLIP KO FEI has passed away. Clone fans may remember him from “The Dragon The Hero”, “Dragon on Fire”, “Gold Connection” to name but a few of his film roles.

Phillip had a long career in the film industry, serving as stutman, actor, action director, director and producer on 100’s of movies. His acting credits alone span to more than 200 movies. He will be greatly missed and is a great loss to the world of kung fu cinema.

Deepest condolences to his friends and family.

New Bruce Lee bio-pic “Little Dragon”

Shekhar Kapur is set to direct “Little Dragon”, an authorised biopic of Bruce Lee. It will produced by Bruce’s daughter, Shannon Lee, under her production company Bruce Lee Entertainment. Shannon also co-wrote the screenplay with the director that focuses on Lee’s early life in Hong Kong. A subject that was previously covered in several recent films including 2010’s Bruce Lee My Brother. Filming is due to start in July 2017 with no word yet on who will be playing Bruce Lee.
